Mane-Tained ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, book services, or communicate with us — including via SMS/text message. It applies to both of our studio locations: Costa Mesa (763 Baker Street, Costa Mesa, CA 92626) and Aliso Viejo Town Center (26731 Aliso Creek Road, Suite 200, Aliso Viejo, CA 92656).

We reserve the right to update this Policy at any time. Changes will be posted at www.mane-tained.com with an updated effective date. Continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Billing information (credit/debit card details processed securely through our payment processor)

1c. SMS / Text Message Communications

When you opt in to receive SMS communications from Mane-Tained, we collect your mobile phone number and your consent record (including the date, time, and method of opt-in). This information is used solely to facilitate the SMS program you have enrolled in.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To schedule, confirm, and manage your appointments
To process payments and maintain booking records
To communicate with you about your services, account, or membership
To send appointment reminders, follow-up care instructions, and service updates

3. SMS / TEXT MESSAGE PROGRAM

3a. Program Description

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from Mane-Tained. These messages may include:

Appointment confirmations and reminders
Rebooking prompts
Membership updates and renewal notices
Promotional offers and studio announcements (with separate consent)

3b. How to Opt In

You may opt in to SMS communications by:

Providing your mobile number at the time of booking and checking the SMS consent box
Texting a designated keyword to our studio number
Signing a consent form in-studio

3c. How to Opt Out

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive one final confirmation text. You will not receive further marketing SMS messages unless you re-enroll. Opting out of SMS does not affect your ability to book appointments or receive service-related communications via other channels.

Reply HELP to any SMS message to receive program information and our contact details.

3e. Message Frequency & Costs

Message frequency varies by program and your appointment schedule. Standard message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan. Mane-Tained is not responsible for any charges incurred from your wireless carrier.

3f. Supported Carriers

SMS services are available through most major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and others. Carrier support may vary. Mane-Tained is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

3g. Data Sharing for SMS

Your mobile phone number and SMS consent information will NOT be shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We do not sell or rent SMS opt-in data. This information may be shared only with our SMS platform provider (e.g., RingCentral) as necessary to deliver the program, and with parties required by law.

4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

Mane-Tained does not sell, rent, or lease your personal information. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers: With trusted vendors who assist us in operating our business (e.g., booking software such as Vagaro, SMS platforms, payment processors). These parties are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it as directed by us.
Legal Requirements: When disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or court order.
Business Protection: To enforce our Terms of Service or protect the rights, property, or safety of Mane-Tained, our staff, or our guests.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

Right to Know: You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal data we have collected about you in the past 12 months.
Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions.
Right to Correct: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of the above rights.

Our legal bases for processing include contract performance, legitimate interests, and your consent (where explicitly obtained, including for SMS communications).

7. DATA RETENTION

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations. SMS opt-in and opt-out records are retained for a minimum of 4 years to demonstrate compliance with applicable telecommunications regulations. You may request deletion of your data at any time (subject to legal retention obligations).

8. COOKIES

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve functionality and analyze usage. You may control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
